Project Outline: Some of the student had mentioned that they wanted to “learn how to draw life-like”. This lesson is very basic, but it’s a great way of teaching how to draw from observation. The steps of drawing a hand are to find the basic shapes that the hand (or any object) is made of, then draw the lines that detail the shapes, and finally, add the shading to create a three dimensional form. I will demo the process first, going from shapes to lines to shading of a hand. Then the students will sit and draw their hands. This project will help to teach them o pay attention to detail, and how to translate that with a pencil. I believe this will give them the confidence to draw anything from life with practice.
Conclusion: Wow! I can’t believe how excited they were! It seems like such a simple project, but they really loved it! Today, most of them only got the lines done, next week we will continue with shading. This project gave them so much confidence in themselves, -im so proud!
